Job Description.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead and manage multiple construction projects across various locations in the UK. This is a key role within our Operations team, responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
You will act as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams, including Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and our Head Office functions.
Key Responsibilities.
Responsible for managing construction projects from inception to completion. The works are predominantly Civil Engineering and Construction in nature.
- Full project management of construction projects
- Lead all site-based activities, ensuring zero accidents and championing ACS values.
- Establish and maintain project programmes, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
- Monitor progress, identify issues, and take corrective actions as required.
- Manage procurement schedules, liaising with the Buying team and subcontractors.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Manage project variations, valuations, and final accounts with the Commercial team.
- Support and review site performance, ensuring compliance with HSQE standards.
- Maintain strong client relationships, resolving disputes and securing agreement on variations.
- Promote best practice across all ACS projects, driving continuous improvement.
- Support Site Managers, ensuring resources are available and teams are trained.
- Conduct regular site reviews and team meetings to ensure alignment and communication.
Required Skills & Experience.
Essential:
- CSCS Contracts Manager Accreditation
- SMSTS 5-day qualification
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role within civil engineering and construction
- Experience of operating in high-risk environments (energy, renewables, Oil/gas, COMAH) is advantageous
- Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently
- UK driving licence
- Proactive problem-solving approach
