Check out our recent installation of two Storage Pharma Silos, which are part of the new pharmaceutical salt facility that we are constructing for British Salt Limited in Middlewich.
The Polem Composite silos & tanks were 3.5m wide, 11m long and weighed 3.4 tonnes. The main crane was 100 tonnes and raised the tanks 25 meters high, over the roof space of the 4th floor of the new steel structure, and then lowered into position with precision.
The second crane was 40 tonnes and was used to top & tail the tank from the delivery wagon. Thanks to Ainscough Crane Hire for supplying the cranes.
The remaining tank installs begin tomorrow:
– Slurry Head Tank – V-1302 – weight 1410 Kg – this is to be installed through level 3 roof and fixed to the concrete slab.
– Pharma Dryer Exhaust Scrubber Tank – S-1304 – weight 832 Kg -– this is to be installed through level 3 roof and fixed to the concrete slab.
– Pharma Dust Collection Scrubber Tank – S-1305 – weight 400 Kg -– this is to be installed through level 3 roof and fixed to the concrete slab.
– Pharma Dryer Scrubber Tank – V-1304 – weight 915 Kg – through level 2 roof and skated into position re-lifted and installed onto concrete plinths.
– Drier Exhaust Stack – 500 kg – this is to be installed through level 3 roof and fixed to the concrete slab.
Our civils works achieved practical completion for the dry side building last week and at the end of this week, Reynolds and Litchfield steel erectors will install all remaining purlins and steelwork. Then, w/c 18th September our cladding contractor will return to site to complete the roofing and cladding install.
The wet side site primary steel structures have arrived on site, and we have commenced the install of the first of the 9 structures.
The pipe support structures are currently being designed and will follow the primary steel install.
Big thanks to Paul Howard, Mick Ellis and all the ACS team for delivering this one alongside Phill Grocott & Joel Broster from RevolutionProjects.
