Meet Dave Meadows, our new Quantity Surveyor.

Q: What was your experience prior to ACS?

A: I qualified as a quantity surveyor in 2017 from the University of Salford at the same time as my colleague at ACS, Mike Stott. Previously I worked at LJR Developments Ltd in Warrington and after that, I co-owned and ran my own building company with a friend for a couple of years.

Q: Why did you decide to move to ACS?

A: When I was running my own business, I found that I was only doing QS work once a week, so I wanted to get back to doing this full-time. Mike, who I already knew at ACS, contacted me and spoke highly of the business, which was appealing and seemed like a good fit. ACS are structured in a great way; everyone gets stuck in and helps each other, and I can see career progression here, too.

Q: How have you found your time at ACS so far?

A: So far so good – the first week was a bit hectic, getting to know everyone and looking after projects straightaway, so I was in at the deep end! Good to get into it though, and everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. The social aspect of ACS has also helped me settle in well.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at ACS?

A: Career progression, for sure, but I’m keen to pass my probation period first. I’m looking forward to finding my feet in my day-to-day role and being able to come in and get on with my work when I know and understand how ACS works.

Q: What do you like doing outside of work?

A: I like to socialise, hike, and I enjoy being outdoors. I’m also a keen football fan and a Leeds United supporter.
