We asked Will Hamilton, a student who recently gained work experience with us, how he found his time at ACS Construction.
Q: What year are you in at school and what subjects are you studying?
A: I’ve just finished year twelve and the subjects I’m studying are Maths, Further Maths, and Physics.
Q: How has your week been at ACS?
A: It’s gone well so far, and I’ve really enjoyed it.
Q: What have you learnt about the workplace that you didn’t know before?
A: I’ve learnt a lot in my week here, as I can see how all the different job roles link together for a project to work and be completed. I’ve found that the office at ACS is a chilled and friendly environment to be in.
Q: Have you learnt any new skills during your time with ACS?
A: I’ve been working with the software that ACS use and how these store all their documents and more.
Q: After spending time with ACS, do you think a career in the construction industry is right for you?
A: At the moment, I don’t have anything in mind as such, but I’d consider a job in construction. Estimating is the most intriguing and is something I could see myself doing.
Q: What job would you like to do in the future?
A: If I decide on a future in construction, I’d like to work in an estimating role.
