We asked student, Finn Gavaghan, who recently gained work experience with us, how he found his time at ACS Construction.
Q: What year are you in at school and what subjects are you studying?
A: I’m starting sixth form in September, and I’ll study maths, biology, physics, and sports science.
Q: How has your week been at ACS?
A: Enjoyable and informative. I’ve enjoyed being able to go onto a construction site and sit in meetings.
Q: What have you learnt about the workplace which you didn’t know before?
A: I hadn’t realised how many different skills went into one job.
Q: Have you learnt any new skills during your time with ACS?
A: I’ve learnt how to work using a spreadsheet and to calculate the area of a site.
Q: After spending time with ACS, do you think a career in the construction industry is right for you?
A: It definitely isn’t off the cards. I have found a lot of aspects quite interesting; however, I haven’t experienced any other careers so I can’t say for definite
Q: What job would you like to do in the future?
A: Preferably one where I can spend time outside and where every day isn’t the same.
