Maria has had a vibrant working life, to date.
Originally from Gran Canaria, she started her early career as a translator, later moving to the US and Germany. Following this, she spent ten years in banking, in Spain, then completed a master’s degree in teaching languages and language for specific specialisms, technical and business.
Seeking a new challenge, Maria moved on to Siemans as a design document controller in the rail infrastructure division, for five years, working closely with Network Rail.
During her time there, Maria says she learnt a lot, and began looking for a different role outside of rail – something similar, but with exposure to different fields and with wider opportunities.
On joining ACS, Maria said “I’ve found that the people I’ve met so far at ACS are very welcoming and nice. The workplace feels like a family and I’m happy I’ve made the move here. My new role involves making sure that the management information systems are up to date – with all departments having the latest versions of all documents – and that they are controlled and auditable.”
Outside of work, Maria loves to travel. She is planning to buy a motorhome and would love to arrange family trips around the world.
