Meet our new Assistant Plant Manager, Dave Knott. Dave joins us with almost 40 years’ experience in the construction, logistics and electroplating industries and will be bringing a wealth of knowledge in product supervision, plant operation and logistics.
We caught up with Dave about his time at ACS so far, his career to date and why he wanted to work with us. Take a look at his thoughts below.
Hi Dave, could you tell us about your experience prior to ACS?
From 1985 to 2007 I worked as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor and Computer Plant Operator for various companies in the electroplating industry. This involved supervising the electroplating process in factories and for aircraft components, ensuring detailed precision processes were completed on time and to exceptionally high standards.
In 2007 I joined JD Williams Logistic Operations as Team Leader, with my main responsibilities involving planning resources, managing performance, ensuring orders were delivered and ensuring a safe working environment.
Why did you decide to move to ACS?
I wanted to experience a new environment and learn new skills within an Assistant Plant Manager’s role, and to gain further knowledge of how the construction industry operates.
I also wanted to learn new systems of purchasing, invoicing and hiring, and to actively get involved with the operation of the plant.
How have you found your time at ACS so far?
It has been interesting. I have only been with the company for four weeks, but I have already met various people who have welcomed me to the business as I gain an understanding of the day to day operation.
What are you most looking forward to at ACS?
Learning new skills, processes and operations in the construction industry.
What do you like doing outside of work?
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf and tennis and watching a variety of sports including football. I also enjoy socialising with family and friends.
